Olympic Committee Says Preparations On Schedule

The Resiburg Olympic Committee released a statement today that preparations for the Resiburg 2011 Olympics are on schedule.

Renovations on the Olympic Hockey Center, Olympic Oval, Resiburg Ice Arena are under way. Construction on the Apland Center and the Resiburg Olympic Village are also under way. Both projects are due to be completed in November of 2010. All three alpine venues in Aqila will be closed to recreation during October to the beginning of the games in February and during the Olympic and Paralympic games due to preparations .

Five new hotels in Resiburg and two in Aqila are due to be opened before the games start in February.

Roadwork throughout Resiburg, Aqila, and on the E34 motorway is scheduled to be completed before the onset of the cold months. In addition to this, the city of Resiburg has announced plans for a bus service that will ferry visitors to and from Olympic venues.

Outside of Resiburg there is heavy construction on the A2 Motorway from Consi-Arali International Airport to Resiburg.

Resiburg 2011 Olympic Venues

Official Resiburg 2011 Olympic Venues

The following venues are located within the city of Resiburg, at the Resiburg Winter Sports Plaza.

Resiburg Stadium -
Resiburg Stadium is the largest Olympic venue in the games. With a capacity of 35,000, it is the largest stadium in Consi. Resiburg Stadium will be used for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the location where Olympians are awarded medals. After the games, the stadium will be used for the Consian Super League team AC Resiburg.
Olympic Hockey Center - Home of the Consian National Ice Hockey Team, the Olympic Hockey Center is one of only two ice hockey venues in Consi. The venue was built in 1972 as part of the Resiburg Winter Sports Plaza. This venue has recently been renovated and expanded from a capacity of 3,000 to 15,000. The Olympic Hockey Venue will be used for all ice hockey matches.
Olympic Oval - The Olympic oval is used for Long Track Speed Skating. The venue was built in 1972 as part of the Resiburg Winter Sports Plaza. It has been expanded to a capacity of about 10,000 and renovated.
Resiburg Ice Arena - Resiburg Ice Arena is used for Short Track Speed Skating and Figure Skating. It was built in 1993 as part of the Resiburg Winter Sports Plaza. This venue has a capacity of 12,000 people.
Apland Center - Venue that will be used for all Curling events. Capacity of 5,000. The Apland Center is currently under construction and is scheduled to be finished in late November of 2010.
Resiburg Olympic Village - The Resiburg Olympic Village is a state of the art housing complex for the athletes of the Resiburg 2011 Olympics. When completed, the Resiburg Olympic
village will include hundreds of rooms, a gym, a cafeteria, and several lounges.



The following venues are located in Aqila, Consi, a small village of about 3,000 people located about 30 kilometers east of Resiburg.

Aqila Alpine Center - The Aqila Alpine Center will hold all Alpine Skiing, Bobsleigh, Luge, and Skeleton.
Aqila East Olympic Park - Aqila East Olympic Park will hold Biathlon, Cross-country Skiing, Nordic Combined, and Ski Jumping.
Treli Mountain Olympic Park - Treli Mountain Olympic Park will hold all Snowboarding and Freestyle Skiing events.
Aqila Olympic Village - The Olympic Village in Aqila provides a place to stay for all athletes competing in events in the mountains. It features several hundred rooms, a gym, a cafeteria, and three lounges. The Olympic Village provides a breathtaking view of the Aderlil Mountains as well. Just across from the Olympic Village lies the Aqila medals plaza where athletes are awarded medals.

The schedule of the official torch tour of the Resiburg 2011 games is now public.

Please note: Tour schedule is subject to change if tour cities are announced for the following nations partaking in the Resiburg 2011 games: Brickadia and NoTown.

11 February 2011 - Torch Arrives in Resiburg, Consi and is delivered to opening ceremonies. Official Olympic torch at Resiburg Stadium is lit.
10 February 2011 - Torch tours in Olto, Consi.
09 February 2011 - Torch arrives in Greenport, Consi and moves on to Miloal, Consi.
08 February 2011 - Torch tours Carza, Consi and moves on to Fargo Point, Consi.
07 February 2011 - Torch tours Loella, Consi and surrounding small towns.
06 February 2011 - Torch tours Saubery, Consi and Pontezerio, Consi.
05 February 2011 - Torch tours to Arali, Consi.
04 February 2011 - Torch tours Consi (city), Consi.
03 February 2011 - Torch departs Brickbridge in the morning and arrives at Consi (city), Consi in the morning and will begin to tour Consi.

31 January 2011 - Torch arrives in Brickbridge, Isle of Bricks in the evening, taken to Brickcastle, Isle of Bricks.
30 January 2011 - Torch tours Stud-i-o, Stud-i-o. Torch leaves Stud-i-o (Note: Because of time difference, the aircraft leaves Stud-i-o, Stud-i-o very late at 29 January 2011)
29 January 2011 - Torch arrives in Stud-i-o, travels to Frostbrick, Stud-i-o.
28 January 2011 - Torch tours Studlanta.
27 January 2011 - Torch arrives in Studlanta, and goes to Taiyo Shima to tour.
26 January 2011 - Torch leaves Consi.
25 January 2011 - The first hand torch is lit at Resiburg city hall and travels to Consi (city) Consi.

Resiburg Stadium Finished

Resiburg Stadium was officially declared open today after almost 2 years of construction.

Construction finished late last week, but the opening of it was postponed due to heavy rain and snow around the Resiburg area. The stadium will be used by AC Resiburg for one season, and then will close down to be fitted with equipment for the Olympic opening ceremonies and closing ceremonies. After the Olympics it will be used by AC Resiburg.

At the opening of the stadium was chairman of the Consian Olympic Committee Robert Olluy, mayor of Resiburg Jean Flasnick, and many members of the Resiburg Olympic Organizing Committee. At the end of the ceremony , the Olympic flag was raised.

Ground broken on the Apland Center

The mayor of Resiburg pronounced the construction on the Apland Center to begin today at the official groundbreaking ceremony.

The Apland Center will host all curling events for the 2011 Resiburg Olympics and Paralympics. It is located right across from Olympic square home to Resiburg Stadium, Olympic Oval, and the Olympic Hockey Arena.
